It is manifested in Colozimo's speech - the author of this book - what can be called disguised Orientalism, that modern form of thinking that no longer openly claims Western superiority or Eastern inferiority as the famous nineteenth-century discourse did socially, but instead presents itself in a sober critique, using terms like "civilization," "identity," "meaning," and "critique of the West." However, this moral guise does not eliminate the core of the old vision; rather, it reproduces it in more cunning and subtle ways.
Colozimo, while rejecting European colonialism and condemning past violence, remains—unconsciously—believing that the world cannot choose outside the coordinates drawn by the West, and that any preferred Eastern attempt is doomed to end in "new tyranny" or "civilizational catastrophe." With this perspective, the East for Western dominance becomes merely an irrational emotional reaction, just like the old Orientalist discourse, not an actual history or a genuine project to change models of modernity or political sovereignty.
The book, which reveals Western aggression in various forms as its title suggests, quickly shows the reader that the author's goal is to demonstrate the entirely new hostility of diverse Eastern powers toward the developed West; the deserving leader of humanity and the world. It is a book that delves into the intricacies of contemporary Western thought, allowing us to read an eightfold version of the old strategy in its new guise.
