Ribbons

Vanda and Aldo's marital relationship, like many similar relationships, faced trials, erosion, and the heaviness of routine. Despite that, it remained intact – as it might seem at first glance. But a crack appeared a long time ago, and over time the relationship became like a cracked vessel that could break from the slightest touch. And perhaps it did break, even if no one admitted it. "Ribbons" is a captivating and shocking novel about love, family, and the inevitable consequences of our actions. Translated by Amani Fawzi Habbash with skill and ease, it is the first work of Domenico Starnone – one of Italy's most important writers today – to be published in Arabic.
