Making a living

I want a moment of emotion .. a moment of love .. a moment of amazement .. a moment of knowledge .. a moment that gives my life meaning .. My life for earning a living has no meaning, because it is just continuation. This is the introduction of the book, in which the author presents a summary of his seven stories, and his multiple characters, who seem to be one person woven from the environment of the fifties, with multiple facets. The characters, despite their differences, gather around that view that rejects and resents their lives, and looks forward to a better life far from mere continuation as the author calls it. The characters especially lack rebellion, action, and we notice the events of the stories as if they are reactions to a written fate from thousands of years ago, with no hope of trying to change.
