I saw in what the dreamer sees

This collection of stories places the reader in confrontation with many existential questions and contradictions that shape life, as Naguib Mahfouz gathers his deep vision of life in five medium-length stories, followed by 17 dreams collected by Mahfouz under the title "I Saw What the Sleeper Sees," through which he narrates the journey of man from his birth to his departure. The collection begins with the story "People of Passion," in which Mahfouz presents an image of the firstborn human who comes out to life from inside the womb. This story was adapted into a film titled "Balh Agency." As for the story "My Fate and My Share," it deals with the hidden aspects of human life and the eternal struggle between good and evil, and the destiny of man caught between comfort and pain.
