Introduction to the science of modern psychology

The soul longed to refine what might have remained in it of stimulation from psychology and to revive what it studied of its landmarks, so it found in the original English of this book its sought-after and enriched it. It is that it combines conciseness, comprehensiveness, and accuracy, and surrounds its subject with an encompassing grasp that reaches the utmost without exceeding the intended.... The author's matter in this book was not limited to mere transfer and piling up of information, but like every skilled writer, he mastered his material and digested his idea, entering the subject with his opinions, discussing, researching, and exploring. I liked in the book the good division between topics and the harmony of each part with its importance, and the ease of its expression and its simplification of its material in a way that makes it suitable for the ordinary reader.
