For years, I was tempted by the idea of writing a book about the second fitna in one of its stages, which is the period after the death of the caliph Yazid ibn Muawiya and the appointment of Marwan ibn al-Hakam as caliph, that is, the transfer of power from the Sufyani branch to the Marwani branch. It is also the period during which the movement of Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr developed, as he extended his influence to Iraq and the entire Levant except Jordan. During this period, the political religious legitimacy disputes increased, especially the Umayyad Marwani legitimacy based on the Yemeni origin of the Levant.
