In my grave

Product description
This novel has been said to express a pessimistic trend known in the nineteenth century, with some of its most prominent figures being Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, and Schopenhauer. We see the hero attacking theories of ethics, utility, interest, and the prevailing positivist and materialist theories of that time. Dostoevsky wrote this novel in two parts. The first part is nothing but a kind of conversation of a person with himself, or a kind of confession, where he says: I am a sick man... a malicious person... I possess nothing that attracts or charms. In this part, the philosophical and intellectual side dominates. He refuses to stand even before the wall of science, refusing to accept that 2×2=4, saying: Why should I care about the laws of nature and mathematics if these laws do not satisfy or please me? I refuse to be humiliated before this barrier. As for the second part, we see him entering the world of literature and poetry through comments on some works, and on the world of facts through his view of his society, and through a relationship with a prostitute who mistakenly believes that he will save her from the decline awaiting her.
