A brief about the book Al-Mustatraf fi Kull Fan Mustatraf "Al-Mustatraf fi Kull Fan Mustatraf" by Shihab al-Din Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Abshihi is one of the most enjoyable and amusing literary, religious, and historical books. Its author collected in it everything his memory served him of anecdotes, news, poetry, sermons, and good speech. It was described by Haji Khalifa in his book (Kashf al-Dhunun) with the best description, saying: it includes every fine art, and contains references with verses from the Quran, authentic hadiths, and good stories about the righteous. He also transferred much from what al-Zamakhshari included in Rabi' al-Abrar and ibn Abd al-Rahman in Al-'Aqd. It contains many subtleties from the products of useful books, and he included in it proverbs, humorous anecdotes, strange stories, and poetic and spiritual writings, making it encompass eighty-four chapters.
