A brief about the book "Tanzil al-Amlak fi Harakat al-Afalak"
All writings of Ibn Arabi are based "on mystery and symbolism" and the astonishing puzzles and riddles are those we contemplate in his book "Tanzil al-Amlak from the world of spirits to the world of spheres." In it, he gives meaning to Sharia and prayer and the obligation of ablution and pouring water, etc... He precisely defines the relationship of the body and its organs with the elements of nature and specifically with the element of water and gives it its metaphysical dimensions. Then he talks about prayer, establishing it, its takbirs, raising the hands during it, the direction, standing, and recitation. He discusses the difference between Al-Fatiha and a surah, bowing, raising from bowing, prostrating, rising from prostration, sitting, Tashahhud, and the secrets of peace. All these obligations originate from the Sharia, which is divine: Say, if the earth had angels walking securely, We would have sent down to them from the sky a messenger.
Ibn Arabi considers that the soul is the one that descends, addressing the intellect at times and the heart at other times, revealing to both the secrets of the obligations. Sometimes, the intellect and heart converse, each revealing to the other an important secret of its own.
