To read Lolita in Tehran - Azar Nafisi

A story of lectures in rebellion lasted two years, taught by Nafisi to a group of Iranian women starting from 1995 after her resignation from her job at the university; a job she could not bear because of the Iranian religious regime. Over two years, before emigrating to the United States, Nafisi and her students established a circle of personal freedom for themselves, interwoven with reading novels by Vladimir Nabokov, Scott Fitzgerald, Jane Austen, and Henry James. How did Nafisi invent her distinctive strategy to move forward and continue her life, and resist the tyranny of the Islamic Republic by secretly sharing her beloved stories with others?
