Castle in the air | Diana and Jones

Product description

Diana Wynn Jones draws inspiration from the world of Howl in this part, evoking the atmosphere of One Thousand and One Nights, creating for us the character of Abdullah the merchant of carpets who spends his boring time in vivid daydreams full of movement, colors, scents, and good luck! And although this part was published four years after the release of Howl's Castle, we move with it through time, just as Abdullah moves on his magic carpet, to live in the enchanting world of nights, jinn, and "blue" goblins, and the wishes that the genie grants after effort and perseverance! Don't forget that the author began the first part by talking about failure. Abdullah believes, just as Sophie believed, in his unfortunate luck, so he resorts to daydreams, filling them with everything his hand has not reached in real life. The title hints at dreams that do not come true because they lack a solid foundation, like the castle hanging in the air. But Abdullah's dreams traveled far away, suddenly shifting from the desert world to the atmosphere of Howl's homeland. In this journey, Abdullah changes, just as Sophie changed before him, striving diligently to turn his daydreams into a reality full of movement, colors, scents, and good luck! Every journey becomes a step toward happiness, and every dream turns into a stone building a monument. Who said dreams don't build castles?!
