Who are the Jews and what is Judaism | Abdel Wahab El Messiri

Who are the Jews? And what is Judaism? Two central questions answered through this book by Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Masiri, a specialist in Jewish and Zionist studies, who covers the dimensions of the subject – which seems complex to some – with his smooth, logical, analytical, and engaging style. The study is divided into three chapters; in the first, he unpacks the concept of the global Jewish unity and Jewish identity, then in the second chapter, he shows the extent of the homogeneity of Jewish groups worldwide, and in the last chapter, he analyzes the question of identity, the crisis of the Zionist society, and the fundamental contradictions between the Zionist vision of what is called Jewish identity and the reality of Jewish communities. This book refutes many assumptions and exposes the falsehood of many claims; it forms a fundamental building block in the analysis of Jewish and Zionist thought and, like any unprecedented work, foresees the future of the Jewish state.
