Idea Hunter | John Douglas, Mark Olshaker

During his twenty-five-year career with the investigative support unit, the client John Douglas became a legendary icon in law enforcement, through pursuing some of the most famous and sadistic serial killers of our time: the man who hunted prostitutes for fun in the Alaskan forests, the child killer in Atlanta, and the "Green River" serial killer in Seattle; the case that nearly cost Douglas his life. And in the style of Jack Crawford in the famous film "The Silence of the Lambs," Douglas faced, met, and studied dozens of serial killers and murderers — including Charles Manson, Tedd Bendy, and Ead Gaine — who dressed himself in the skin of his mutilated victims; using his strange and astonishing ability to become both predator and prey at the same time. Douglas examines every crime scene, recalling in his mind the movements of both the killer and the victim, creating their profiles, describing their habits, and predicting their next moves. Now, with chilling details, the legendary "Mindhunter" takes us behind the scenes of some of the most gruesome, astonishing, and challenging cases — and plunges us into the dark depths of our worst nightmares.
