We have already devoured libraries with all their contents, but we found only three or four writers worth reading and rereading, and exceptions of this kind concern ignorant geniuses whom we admire, and when needed, we learn from them, though basically they say nothing. I want to be able to intervene in the history of human security with the rudeness of a butcher accompanied by all the kindness of eugenics. Until when will we leave ourselves trampled by the feet of various creators who know nothing, they are terrible children, and inspired, lacking any understanding of happiness and suffering? We cannot appreciate a genius who has not grasped the roots of life, no matter how many expressions he has, except in moments of indifference. It is terrifying to think that those who knew something are very few, and that the number of cases of integrated existence is decreasing. But, what is meant by integrated existence, and what is the meaning of knowledge? There is no doubt that what is meant is to retain a thirst for life at the hours of dusk.
