Product description

Hesse wrote the novel "Demian" with passionate prose while in the peak of his maturity, and it is clear that Hesse realized that this work takes on a universal character, as evidenced by the subtitle of the novel and the ambiguous: "A Youth's Tale," ambiguous because it may include a story of youth in the individual sense, as well as a story of a generation of youth, and Hesse did not want the novel to be published under his name, but chose a pseudonym for its signature, "Sankler," borrowed from the world of "Holdenrlan," and he only signed it after its tenth edition. "Demian" was a novel that touched the nerve of the phase with an exciting accuracy, and depicted with an intellectual sensibility a whole youth that he believed the hero, embodying its deepest hopes, had risen from among its ranks.
