Why can't the act of sacrifice (no matter how noble) be reduced to a mere pathological anomaly or a reckless treacherous act or a form of pure madness? Why are efforts made to systematically eradicate it from our societies, or at least from the societies where liberalism, as the dominant model, has been established, an economy that, in reality, feeds off the very act of sacrifice itself?
