Product description
This novel is considered the last novel of the writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, where he decided after the death of his son Alexei from a seizure to seek an outlet for his tragedy. This outlet was nothing but a massive work through which he would end his literary life — and he died leaving its ending open. So, in December 1877, he decided to stop doing anything except writing. He focused on collecting notes and memos that would be material for his new novel. He said: In March 1878, "I have envisioned and will soon start a large novel in which many of the characters will be children." He began his idea for this search by exploring the possibility of remaining lying on the railway line while a train passes over you at maximum speed. And so, within three years, the novel The Brothers Karamazov was brought into existence. Dostoevsky only wanted to shake all stagnant ponds with this work, which seems simple but is the simplicity that sweeps your thinking and makes it face a clear challenge. Dostoevsky’s thought was challenging his readers: "As for me, I have done nothing in my life but push to the maximum what you dare not push except halfway." We cannot ignore that The Brothers Karamazov is not an ordinary novel; rather, it is one of the most controversial and influential global novels of the second half of the nineteenth century, and indeed one of the most influential in world literature throughout history.
