In the hands of the reader is the first novel of the "Snow White" trilogy, which includes the novels: "Red as Blood," "White as Snow," and "Black as Ebony," by the Finnish author Sala Simukka, who won the "Tobylius" Award in 2013 for the best youth novel for her novel "Without Trace" and for her novel "Elsewhere." In addition to the Finland Award in 2013. In "Red as Blood," Sala Simukka begins her novel with Snow White's queen's wish: "I wish I could have a girl who is as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black-haired as the dark ebony wood from which this window frame is made," meaning the novelist combines three wishes into one girl whom we will follow in three stories from "Snow White." The story says that on a harsh, freezing winter day, fate wanted to have Lumiki Andersen—who was seventeen years old—to accidentally enter the film developing room at her school, and she found a large collection of crimson banknotes washed of the bloodstains that had stained them, hanging on the lines to dry. But whose blood is it, I wonder? Lumiki lives in a one-room apartment, separated from her parents and a mysterious past she turned her back on when she transferred to a prestigious art school, where she decided to focus all her attention on academic achievement and graduation. To achieve this, she ignored the foolishness and chatter of students, and the parties hosted by the most popular and beautiful students. But Lumiki’s discovery of those blood-stained notes turned everything upside down. Suddenly, Lumiki found herself caught in a whirlwind of rapid events, driven to trace the source and origin of those mysterious notes. The events took a more dangerous turn when evidence pointed to corrupt police officers, a notorious drug dealer known for his brutality in running his criminal activities. The story accelerates, and Lumiki loses control of her world, which she had carefully built and arranged, until she realized how blind she had been to many of the forces surrounding her. She raced against time to set things right. When she saw the deep red blood stain the white snow, she then realized that perhaps it was too late to save her friends or even herself from a destined fate.
