The Girl and the Cigarette - Bonne Deterrent
The girl and the cigarette" is a sign of dystopian literature (literature of the corrupt city) in the twenty-first century, but it is a satirical dystopia that lightly exposes the hastening world of ideals, dreams, and values until lightness becomes the counterpart of heaviness and the being becomes unbearable. A novel published in 2005, yet it reached the level of general and sometimes detailed prediction of what would happen in Syria, for example, in the early years of the second decade, as the writer depicts scenes of terrorist cinematic entertainment with their victims, recording a narrative and intuitive premonition of what the whole world would see later on television screens.
A cigarette saves the life of a condemned prisoner, who then emerges from the depths of prison to the squares of glory and fame with the support of the tobacco industry lobbies, and a cigarette turns a life of an employee upside down, causing him to collapse to the lowest depths.
Between all this, the writer sends many messages: condemning social hypocrisy by dedicating slogans of "childhood care" instead of "totalitarian ideas," and calling for attention to a human model almost forgotten: the mature productive man, from whose flesh humanity feeds and who gains nothing but neglect.
