Here is the Arabic version of the novel "The Long Walk" by American novelist Stephen King, translated by Oleg Awki. The story says, every year, on the first day of May, a hundred teenage boys gather to participate in an event known throughout the country as "The Long Walk." The chosen outcome for this year’s event was "Ray Gazati," who is sixteen years old. He knows the rules of the game: warnings are issued if he slows down below the allowed speed, if he stumbles, if he sits, and after three warnings... he receives a card. What happens then serves as a terrifying reminder that there can only be one winner in the walk – the person who endures to the end. And in this absolute competition, only death can prevent him from reaching the finish line!
The initial premise of the story is based on the emergence of a type of deadly game, in which one hundred young men participate each year, each representing a city from American cities. With the encouragement of a large audience, and broadcasting the competition on television screens.
And this deadly game requires the hundred young men who entered it voluntarily to walk nonstop along American roads. Whenever they finish one road, they move to the connected road, and the army must accompany them with armored vehicles. Anyone whose speed drops below four kilometers per hour receives a warning, followed by another warning after a few minutes... If he cannot increase his speed, and so on until warnings accumulate; for a player to be eliminated, he only needs to continue walking at a speed of no less than four kilometers per hour for two hours. And anyone who receives four warnings is immediately shot and killed by the army. The players will fall one after another, and only one player will remain—the hero of the story...
