Product description

Amoxiclav LA is a long-acting antibiotic. Clavulanic acid paralyzes the bacteria's defenses (beta-lactamase enzymes), thus opening the way for amoxicillin to completely destroy the bacteria. Thanks to its long-acting feature, it provides continuous tissue protection for several days with a single dose.

Features of the Amoslav LA:

  • It efficiently kills both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, even those strains resistant to the traditional penicillin family.
  • The compound is released into the body slowly and at a constant concentration, reducing the number of times the animal needs to be injected and ensuring extended and convenient therapeutic coverage for both the breeder and the animal.
  • It has excellent tissue penetration into the respiratory system, making it highly effective in treating transmission fever and acute pneumonia.
  • It is considered a key protocol for treating intractable uterine infections after parturition, and acute mastitis in cows and cattle.

Composition:

  • Amoxicillin: A broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
  • Clavulanic acid: protects amoxicillin from being broken down and inactivated by bacterial enzymes.

indication:

  • Treatment of acute and chronic respiratory infections (pneumonia, chest infections) in horses, camels, and cattle.
  • Treatment of urinary and reproductive tract infections, especially uterine infections and septic fluid retention after childbirth.
  • Treatment of severe udder infections in dairy animals.
  • Gastrointestinal infections and bacterial intestinal infections (acute infectious diarrhea).
  • Treatment of joint inflammation, hoof infections, and contaminated wounds resulting from surgery or trauma.

Dosage and method of use:

  • 1 ml per 10 to 20 kg of muscle body weight
  • A second dose can be given after 48 hours if the situation requires it.
  • It is recommended not to inject more than 20 ml at one injection site for large animals, and to distribute the large dose over two sites to avoid muscle irritation.

Contraindications:

  • Intravenous (IV) injection is strictly prohibited.
  • It is not used for animals that are hypersensitive to the penicillin or cephalosporin families.
