The sensor design also features a 693-point phase-detection autofocus system that enables intelligent subject tracking, and Real-time Eye AF, which ensures precise focus on moving subjects. The BIONZ X processor performs up to 60 AF and AUE operations per second , simultaneously with 20 fps shooting, for reliable results in rapidly changing situations.

The camera also supports 4K UHD video recording at up to 30 fps, with slow-motion and fast-motion recording capabilities. Additionally, 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization provides significant shake reduction of up to 5.5 stops .

Design improvements:
