Vicks Vaporub is an ointment used to relieve cold and cough symptoms. It can be used in two ways: by inhalation to relieve nasal congestion, or applied directly on the skin to relieve muscle pains. Uses: To relieve nasal congestion: steam can be inhaled by placing the ointment in hot water, or it can be applied on the chest and back. To relieve cough: it can be applied on the chest and back to reduce cough and soothe the throat. To soothe muscle pains: it can be applied on affected areas to relieve muscle pains. Method of use: To relieve nasal congestion: dissolve 1-2 teaspoons in a bowl of hot water (not boiling) and inhale the steam for 10-15 minutes, keeping the face away from the water to avoid burns. To relieve cough and muscle pains: apply an appropriate amount of the ointment on the chest and back and gently massage, avoiding contact with the eyes and nose.
