Pearl of the sea | Illustrated novel

Pearl, a reserved girl, alone, feels familiarity in the ocean as if it is her home more than her house on land. She discovers an ancient sea monster while diving in search of the sea's ear off the coast of South Africa. But when it becomes clear that this moody creature is afraid of her—just as she is afraid of it—she realizes that she is the only one who can protect her new friend... if only she had the courage to overcome her past; so she opens her heart to others.
