Memory police

A whole world built here by Yoko Ogawa piece by piece: an island where things and creatures disappear, and emotions fade away. Women and men abandon or secretly keep their memories. Devices and organizations track memories and ensure their disappearance. It is a remarkable novel that succeeded in creating the paradox: building a world based on disappearance and erasure. The novel "Memory Police" was shortlisted for the 2020 Booker International Prize. Yoko Ogawa: a Japanese novelist who has won all the major Japanese literary awards.
