Product description

Published in 1871, the novel Little Men, and I promised a second part of Louisa May Alcott's masterpiece Little Women, then followed by a third and final part titled Jo's Boys. In this part, Jo March, who became Mrs. Baer after her marriage, appears managing a school for boys. The author was inspired by her father, who was passionate about educational reform, and by the school he founded. This novel, like its predecessor, achieved great success and was adapted into many films and a Japanese anime series produced by Nippon Animation as part of the World Masterpieces Theater series. It focused on Nan, one of the two students at the school, who became famous in the Arab world as Nawar. Jo not only founded a school for boys but also made sure that the place was a true home, especially for orphans among them. With the help of her husband, Professor Baer, they mended their broken hearts and provided their sick bodies with food and medicine. She believed that love is "a flower that grows in any soil, and its sweet miraculous fruits are not harmed by autumn frost or winter snow, but bloom beautifully and fragrantly all year round, blessing both the giver and the receiver." When the world became a small village, distances between people grew, the land dried up, and the "flower of love" withered. This novel is like an invitation from Jo and her little men to the reader to fill their heart with kindness and appreciation for the beautiful things in nature and humanity to realize the essence that the eye cannot see. Number of pages: 445
