Our problem has never been commitment or neglect. Our problem has been and still is extremism in one of the two directions. Staying in the middle is a concept we have not mastered handling until now. We were extreme in generosity and it turned into waste and extravagance. We were extreme in advising and made it into intimidation and fear. We were extreme in love and it became possession and control. We were extreme in fear and handed over the reins of our lives, so we became slaves to it.
