Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a series of seventeen novels written by the American author Jeff Kinney. The stories are about the boy Greg Heffley who writes his school diaries and his adventures with his friends and family and details of his funny daily life. Since the story was published online in 2004, it received praise from critics and became very popular among readers worldwide, which prompted Jeff to release a printed version of the weak boy in 2007. A film with the same name based on the first novel was released in 2010, followed by a second and third part in 2011 and 2012. The children's website also includes two islands called "Wimpy Wonderland" and "Wimpy Boardwalk" where we find characters from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series in their imaginary world.
