About the novel "Living in a house full of magic is not an easy matter, as you know." This is the will of Aunt Smeronia for Sharmin, the heroine of the third and final part of Howell's trilogy. Sharmin is taken to manage the affairs of the house of the wizard Hay Norland, the older brother William, upon the recommendation of Aunt Smeronia. Sharmin was raised well by her parents, the Baker family, but they were overly protective, keeping her away from everything in hopes she would become a "respectable" girl, and she only excelled at reading books, burying her nose in them all the time. Therefore, she strives to realize her dream of joining the king of Hay Norland and his daughter, Princess Hilda, in their library classification. Sharmin learns simple things in the wizard's house, such as washing dishes, tidying the house, and the art of washing clothes—she does not wash a red apron with white clothes. She tries to be kind to Wif and Peter, who teach her many things, despite not distinguishing between right and left. In the small house—seemingly—with its single door leading to various places, Sharmin discovers many hidden talents. She is naturally a wizard, succeeding in stopping water from bursting out of cracked pipes, flying in the meadow, confronting the Lubbock, exposing the deception of Goblin Rollo, and protecting the kingdom alongside her dog Wif. Living in the wizard's house was not an easy matter, as Sharmin concluded, but she discovered herself and other people she would never have known if not for her stay there. Most importantly, she learned about life as she never knew it before.
