Product description
About the book: It discusses the issue of human waste in its many forms, levels, and colors: starting with the waste of blood, criminalization, prohibition, exile, and deportation inside and outside the homeland, and authoritarianism and its mechanisms of control over behavior and taming of living energies, passing through the waste of thought, awareness, youth, and institutions, and ending with the existential forms of waste in daily life. This waste, which may reach the level of ontological illness, makes every discussion about democracy and development a trivial matter as long as the foundational and binding condition has not been met, which is the recognition of the human being as valuable, respected, protected, capable, and aware. Every person in our world has their share of waste, which varies in shape and amount, hindering or obstructing the project of building a quality life and shaping the future. The general goal of this work is to raise awareness of the apparent and hidden cases of waste and to uncover their mechanisms, as a necessary step to confront them and to undertake the mission of reclaiming the human dignity of the individual. It presents, for this purpose, an anti-waste perspective based on positive thinking and positive feelings towards the self, serving the power of agency and psychological well-being. This work is far from comprehensive in the issues it addresses, and it is also far from offering definitive answers. Its main ambition is to initiate a mechanism of thinking, dialogue, critique, rejection, and opening new horizons for research, leading to insight and reflection.
