The strange

Overview of the book The novel belongs to the absurdist school in literature, and it was written by Camus as part of a series of writings describing his own philosophy. The events of "The Stranger" take place in Algeria where Camus was born, and its protagonist is Merse, who has French nationality, and through his voice we read the events and feelings, and with him we will live them. If we want to summarize the novel, which consists of 150 pages, in one sentence, we can say "Today my mother died, or perhaps she died yesterday... I don't know," and this is the phrase Camus used to start the novel, to express the most important psychological trait we will live with Merse: indifference.
