Product description
The stories of Mrs. Spoon and who among us does not know Mrs. Spoon? That short old woman from the cartoon series produced by Piero Japan in 1983. However, the series is adapted from a series written by the Norwegian author Alf Pøysen in 1956, and its English translation — among twenty-three other languages — was published three years later. Mrs. Spoon has become a prominent character in Norwegian heritage, as well as in the languages into which it was translated, and a statue was erected in the town of Hamar east of Norway, made by the sculptor Frits Røed from bronze in 1973. Mrs. Spoon possesses a remarkable charm, despite the simplicity of her stories, as her ability to shrink "in the most awkward moments" allows her to see what others do not see, meaning she becomes able to see the world from below, what adults go through every day and ignore. In her shrinking, she sympathizes with the small and weak children and animals. Author name: Alf Pøysen. Publisher: Taqweem.
