Illness as a metaphor

Product description

A brief about the book The disease is the dark side of life. It is exhausting and arduous citizenship, for every person was born a citizen in the Kingdom of the Healthy, and at the same time is born also a citizen in the Kingdom of the Sick. And although we all prefer to carry a passport of the Kingdom of Wellness, we are forced sooner or later—at least for a period of time—to consider ourselves citizens of the Kingdom of the Sick. I want to speak, not about the meaning of departure to the Kingdom of the Sick and living there, but about the punitive or emotional illusions fabricated about the disease, and not about moving geographically, but about models of these illusions that have taken on a national character or traits. My subject is not the disease itself, but the uses of disease as an analogy. My subject is that disease is not an analogy, and the truest view of disease, and the most correct way in the eyes of the sick person to view their illness, is to purify oneself from it, and to be the most resistant to rhetorical thinking and the use of metaphors. However, it is very difficult to look at residing in the Kingdom of the Sick without bias, using the metaphors that described the disease and its image. I dedicate this investigation to explaining these metaphors, refuting them, and freeing the view of the disease from them.
