العبيد البيض

جميعنا بشر .. خُلقنا لنفس الغاية، تشابهت أشكالنا وصفاتنا وأعضائنا وخصائصنا.

واختلفنا في عاداتنا وطباعنا ولُغاتنا وألواننا. ومعظم اختلافاتنا ما هي إلا أمور لا دخل لنا بها، لم نكن لنختارها ولم نكن لنبدلها يومًا.

وهذا يدفعنا للتساؤل: لِمَ يتنازع الناس حولها كالحمقى تاركين أمورًا كان من الأجدر بهم الاهتمام بها ؟

نحن نتقاسم ذات الألم ونفس الشعور ، فحين تسقطُ السياط على جلودنا بنفس القوة لن يختلف ألم الشخص الأبيض عن الأسود، فالوجعُ مشترك، وكذلك الذل والقهر.

We are all human beings... created for the same purpose. Our forms, traits, and features are alike, yet we differ in our customs, temperaments, languages, and colors. Most of our differences are matters beyond our control—things we did not choose and could never change.

This leads us to wonder: why do people fight over such things like fools, abandoning matters far more worthy of their concern? We share the same pain and the same emotions. When whips strike our skin with equal force, the agony of a white person is no different from that of a black person. The pain is mutual, as are the humiliation and oppression.
