Built Memories: Where Time Settles

Jeddah Architecture: Where Time Settles

Built Memories: Where Time Settles

The “Where Time Settles” exhibition takes visitors on a journey to explore the urban transformations that have shaped the city of Jeddah, through the architecture that contributed to defining its character and modern identity.

The exhibition revisits the architecture of the 1970s and 2000s through photography, architectural models, artworks, and archival materials, offering different perspectives on the city, its details, and its memories. The exhibition features the work and contributions of 12 artists and architects, alongside a dedicated section featuring the Jeddah Architecture initiative’s archive, documenting aspects of the city’s architectural and urban memory.

The exhibition explores the relationship between people and architecture, and how the buildings and places we inhabit and pass through every day become part of our individual and collective memory and our sense of belonging to place.

The exhibition is divided into three chapters: Tracing the City, The Language of Buildings, and Continuity. It also features Italian architect Franco Audrito as the Guest of Honor.

Book your ticket and discover Jeddah from a different perspective — as it was built, lived, and settled into our memories.
