( 269 ) رواية قمبيز - أحمد شوقي 1946

رواية قمبيز، من روائع أحمد شوقي "أمير الشعراء"، وهي مسرحية شعرية تدور أحداثها حول الملك الفارسي قمبيز الثاني (قمبيز بن قورش) وغزوه لمصر الفرعونية. صدرت هذه الطبعة عام 1946 عن مطبعة دار الكتب المصرية، بعد رحيل شوقي بك (توفي 1932)، إذ يُذكر على صفحة العنوان "تأليف المرحوم أحمد شوقي بك".

من أبرز ما يميز هذه النسخة أنها تحمل إهداء الشاعر الأصلي إلى صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير فاروق، ولي عهد الدولة المصرية آنذاك، وذلك قبل أن يتولى جلالته عرش المملكة المصرية، كما يوضح الهامش المرفق بصفحة الإهداء. يقع الكتاب في 159 صفحة بقياس 12×17 سم، ويحتوي في نهايته على قسم "نظرات تحليلية" يتناول شخصيات المسرحية وأبعادها الفنية.

من التفاصيل الجديرة بالذكر أن النسخة تحمل بعض التخطيطات والملاحظات بالرصاص على عدد من صفحاتها الداخلية، وهي سمة تحمل طابعها الخاص وتعكس تاريخ تداول الكتاب.

"Qambiz" (Cambyses) is one of the masterpieces of Ahmed Shawqi, "Prince of Poets" — a poetic drama centered on the Persian king Cambyses II and his conquest of Pharaonic Egypt. This 1946 edition was printed by Dar Al-Kutub Al-Misriyya after Shawqi's passing (d. 1932), the title page noting it as authored by "the late Ahmed Shawqi Bey."

A remarkable feature of this copy is that it carries the poet's original dedication to His Royal Highness Prince Farouk, then Crown Prince of Egypt, written before his accession to the Egyptian throne, as confirmed by the footnote on the dedication page. The book runs 159 pages at 12×17 cm, and closes with a "Critical Analysis" section examining the play's characters and literary depth.

Worth noting: the copy bears some pencil markings and annotations on several interior pages, a trace of its history that gives it its own character.
